Time & Process
Turnaround time depends on a number of factors: The type of editing required (extreme content editing takes much more time and collaboration than a basic copyedit), the number of projects my team and I are working on, and the author’s deadline.
Depending on your particular needs, the project could take anywhere from a few weeks to several months to complete. I can give you a more accurate time and cost estimate once I see your writing project and find out how involved you intend to be. We’ll work together to create a realistic timeline for the project, outline the responsibilities and expectations for all parties involved, and determine the payment schedule.
Coaching Program Services
The book coaching programs follow the same process:
- 1st Month: Jumpstart Your Book Retreat Weekend + 1 individual coaching session (by phone or skype)
- Other Months: 2 hour mastermind session (in-person and virtual available) + 1 individual coaching session two weeks later
- In Addition: Schedules for writing days and additional retreats are made available to the authors at the beginning of the program.
Cost & Payment Options
I provide customized estimates for projects because every one of them is different. Some require intensive content overhauls and others just need a quick polish. I estimate the costs based on the level of support required and the current word count. The cost per word ranges from $0.01 – $0.07.
In order to begin working on your project, we require a deposit equal to 50% of the total estimate. Once I have reviewed your project and we have determined the timeline, we can customize a payment schedule that works for you. The final draft of your project will be delivered to you after we have received your final payment.
You can make payments with checks, money orders, and most credit cards. (Visa, Mastercard, Discover)
Coaching Program Services
I currently run 12-month mastermind programs at two price points. The higher price point is such because I include additional writing retreat opportunities with coaching, copyediting services, and bonus items. That “Take Flight Mastermind” is $997 down and $349 per month for 11 months. The second tier “Break Through Mastermind” program is $797 down and $249 per month.
Automatic payments from your credit cards are preferred. (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) If you pay by check or money order, it must be received prior to mastermind and individual coaching sessions.
Customer Satisfaction Guarantee
You will be hard-pressed to find people who will care about your message, its delivery, its power, and its polish more than we will. My team and I are committed to personal and professional excellence, and we work with authors until they are satisfied with the finished product. I do not guarantee that every final draft will be error-free (because we’re human too), but if it’s not, it will be darn close. We will not be held responsible for errors or inaccuracies that may exist in the proofread and/or copyedited documents(s), or any loss, financial or otherwise, which may be associated with such documents(s). You must always review the document(s) after my final edits to ensure accuracy.
I reserve the right to refuse service for certain material.
We do not guarantee that you will be finished with your book by the end of the 12 months, nor that it will be completely ready to go to print for those who do complete it. We cannot guarantee this, as we only guide the writing process, we do not write books for our authors.
We also do not guarantee that participation in this program will result in representation by an agent, publication by a publisher, or award of new business, etc.
Cancellation, Refund & Transfer Policies
We have yet to encounter a request for cancellation or refund, but it is our policy to refund any amount that has not already been applied to working hours. For example, if a client were to pay a $750 deposit and determine that we were not a good fit after only a few hours of work, we would simply deduct the cost of those few hours of work from the deposit and return the balance to them. We stay in such close contact with our authors that if they are unhappy with the way the process is moving, we know about it and make the appropriate adjustments until they are satisfied. If it looks like they will not be satisfied with our services, we will happily find them a company that will better meet their particular needs.
Coaching Services – 12-month program
Minimum Commitment: Participants agree to a minimum three-month commitment. If they discontinue participation prior, they will still be billed for the three months.
Transfer Policy: Participants who must discontinue participation in the program due to personal and/or professional emergencies, or who are otherwise unable to complete the Program, may transfer into one of the future programs made available by True to Intention, at the sole discretion of True to Intention. All requests for transfer must be provided by Participant to True to Intention in writing, and True to Intention is under no obligation to allow the transfer.
Refund Policy for Monthly Participation: Participant will not be refunded for any scheduled Program sessions that they miss. Because True to Intention is committed to support and integrity, True to Intention will provide one 30-minute make-up session call for up to two missed Mastermind Session in cases of personal and/or professional emergencies, as determined in the sole discretion of True to Intention. Any further make up sessions desired by Participant will be billed individually at the rate of $75/hour.
Coaching Services – Retreats & Workshops
Payments for the retreats and workshops are non-refundable. The participant may, however, apply their payment toward a future retreat opportunity.
Confidentiality and Intellectual Property
Your payment information will be kept confidential. We use a credit card processing company to bill users for services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
Although we do our best to maintain confidentiality, we cannot guarantee absolute privacy of documents sent via email because of the non-secure nature of email and the Internet. Please DO NOT send credit card information via email.
My team and I take every personal and technological precaution to protect our clients’ intellectual property. Documents are kept strictly confidential and never leave our team circle, and we do not discuss authors’ ideas and projects without their permission. They will not be shared, sold, or disseminated to any outside parties. We are more than happy to sign non-disclosure agreements for authors who need that assurance. Although we do our best to maintain confidentiality, we cannot guarantee absolute privacy of documents sent via email because of the non-secure nature of email and the Internet.
In our group masterminds, all authors sign contracts agreeing to protect the intellectual property of those in their group. I facilitate a safe forum for the sharing of ideas and support authors in finding ways to promote and support each other without compromising each other’s intellectual property. All of the homework and book content is kept secure in our password protected online community.
