Sales Coach, Speaker, Best-Selling Author

Since I was a child, I have cared deeply about others and their success.  I’m actually surprised that I didn’t end up as a full-time therapist, but somewhere along the way, I became really clear on my values.  My highest value is freedom, which is why I am addicted to being an Entrepreneur and helping other Entrepreneurs be more successful. Sure, one could argue that Entrepreneurs really don’t have that much freedom, but I find that when I create my intentional schedule—and life—I have all of the freedom in the world! The key to having freedom as an Entrepreneur is designing a business that supports your values AND allows you to make enough money to live the life that you know you deserve.

When I look back, I wrote Selling with Intention because I wanted others to be able to experience a great life through Entrepreneurship and Professional Sales. I had begun coaching entrepreneurs, and it didn’t take me long to realize that one of their biggest issues was that they didn’t know how to sell. In fact, they were afraid of selling.  It made them feel uncomfortable. I desperately wanted to help them, so I attended the NLP Institute of California to get certified as an NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) Coach and gain the tools I needed to help my clients identify and change their beliefs about selling, and release their fears so that they could more easily reach their sales goals. That’s when my message became REALLY clear: Selling is easy when you can release the fears and limiting beliefs that are holding you back.

As I continued down this path, I found myself proclaiming my message over and over again, “Selling is easy! Selling is easy!” And then, one day, I realized that I needed to write my book so that more and more people could learn that selling is easy. Plus, if anything ever happened to me, and I could no longer say it, someone could still find my message.  It took me a year to write the first edition of Selling with Intention, and it wasn’t even that good! However, one of my mentors once said, “Done is better than perfect,” so I let it be complete—for the moment.  I met my second Editor (don’t ask me about the first one!) Alisa through the National Association of Women Business Owners. She was very helpful, and then she eventually connected me with Amanda as I continued to fine tune the book and started the SWI workbook.  Amanda was amazing and really listened to what I was trying to do and helped me craft the book—through its 2nd and 3rd editions—into what it is today!

To date, I have made hundreds of thousands of dollars on my message!  Selling with Intention has taken me across the United States and allowed me to speak on stage at some of the most incredible conferences in the world.  I have had the pleasure of meeting my “gurus” like Brian Tracy, Loral Langemeier, Ivan Misner, and others.  It has been my “Golden Business Card” and continues to open up doors that I used to only dream of stepping through. And I feel as if I am just getting started!

One of my most thrilling moments was watching New York Times Bestselling Author (and multi-millionaire) Loral Langemeier speak on my stage at Sales Coach Now—LIVE 2010.  I asked Loral to speak at my event in October 2010, and then I stressed for months until February 4th arrived!  Loral flew in on her private jet and walked in excited to speak. I connected with her briefly, and then went back up on stage to introduce her.  I remember asking everyone to get on their feet while I introduced her, and then the music was cranked as she ran up on stage. It was surreal. I remember holding my breath, thinking, “Wow! I did it! We have a packed room! Loral is speaking at my event! WOOOOHOOOO!”  She hugged me as she got on stage and whispered, “Great job—they love you!”

I walked to the back of the room and sat down on a chair. I actually sat down so hard that I thought maybe I had broken the chair, but it was fine.  I reminded myself to breathe and said a prayer, thanking God for this beautiful moment. I had sacrificed so much to get to that moment. I had worked so hard.  And it had paid off!

I promise that it will pay off for you, too!  There will be angels like Amanda and Loral who will step onto your path to guide you, but it’s up to us to say “yes” to the help when it shows up. It’s up to us to dream big and not settle for mediocre. It is up to us to encourage each other on this path and to remind each other that what we want, wants us!

Today I am clear that my mission is to help Entrepreneurs and Sales Professionals understand that selling is easy (my message!) and that when we all sell a lot (and I mean, A LOT!), we can all give back to the organizations and people that we care about while living a great life.

My advice? Get clear on your message and WHY you want to write it. What do you hear yourself saying over and over again to clients—or anyone who will listen? Once you are clear on your message, you can write your book and grow your business, and your “WHY” will keep you going even when you feel like you want to give up.

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “You must do that thing you think you cannot do.”  You CAN write a book. You WILL manifest your dream. The time to begin is NOW.
