Dare to Dream – Secret #6

Oh my goodness! She’s gonna think I’ve totally lost it. I think I’ve totally lost it! I giggled out loud as I listened to it ring and go to voicemail.

“Hey, I just had the CRAZIEST IDEA. Please call me as soon as you can. I need someone to listen and tell me if I’ve totally lost it.” I laughed out loud again as I pulled the phone away and ended the call.

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve left a message like this on my Coach’s voicemail, but I am sure that every time she sees that I’ve called, she wonders what I’m up to now.

When she called me back, it went something like this:

“You? A crazy idea?” Her laughter matched mine. “What’s up?”

“Well, I just listened to a recorded call and heard Lisa say that she would do a book signing event with a few co-authors. That’s a no-brainer for me, right, because of how we’ve worked together?”

“Right.”

“Okay, so then I got in the car to drive to an appointment, and the most insane possibilities started to flood my mind: What if I could get some authors ready to launch at the event? What if I created a program to support them through production? What if they could have businesses ready to launch by that evening? What if…?”

I told her about all of the inspiration, hardly taking a breath between thoughts, and when I finally finished, I heard the words I knew I would hear, “It makes a ton of sense. How can I help?”

“I don’t know the first thing about how to put 200 people in a room, but I’ve seen you do it a few times. Can you help me?

“Of course.”

“And I have to figure out this production and launch program. What will we provide? How much will we charge? Can we really accomplish this in 6 months?”

“Okay, let’s schedule time. We’ll get you ready to move on this by the end of the week.”

The way the dream came to me, it felt WAY TOO BIG for me to try to figure out on my own, and I asked for help within minutes of getting the inspiration.

And then…I continued to ASK FOR HELP for the next 7 months…

After working with my Coach to customize a strategy for filling the room…

  • I asked my Community to brainstorm, hold the intention for a phenomenal event, and help me fill the room…

  • I asked other coaches who are genius system-creators to help me make sure the systems I was putting in place for the event and the Messenger Launch program were going to work…

  • I asked my clients to JUMP with me in a really big way – financially, emotionally, and spiritually – for the ride of our lives…

  • I asked my friends and community members to volunteer their time, make phone calls, etc.

  • I asked for favors and discounts…

I ASKED FOR HELP…because I knew from the beginning that there was NO WAY I could do it alone.

BUT asking for help hasn’t always been this easy for me. In fact, I spent more than a decade trying to shoulder a horribly exhausting load all by myself. I didn’t want to weigh others down with my troubles or my dreams, so I kept it all to myself and didn’t ask for help, even when I knew I needed it.

What if they don’t get it?

What if they do, and then I disappoint them?

So, trust me, I KNOW it can be a nightmare trying to do things alone, especially when you are trying to manifest a dream; and I believe that’s because WE WERE DESIGNED TO WORK TOGETHER.

And OH MY GOODNESS…what we can accomplish when we do!!!!!

It wasn’t just a phenomenal event, but EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN MY COMMUNITY – coaches, clients, and family members – CAN OWN THE SUCCESS OF THE EVENT because I couldn’t have done it without them. They all showed up before, during, and after the event to support me, my authors, and the attendees. It was absolutely beautiful.
